Our 100% Nomex Shock Cord Protector is 1.25" Inside Diameter wide and 36" Long.

A shock cord protector is frequently used to cover the first few feet of your shock cord to protect it from hot ejection gasses. Damage to your shock cord from hot gas will accrue with each flight, prematurely aging your recovery system and eventually causing a separation due to burn through. Using a shock cord protector will address this issue. Your shock cord will now be protected by a 100% Nomex sleeve, eliminating possible burn through and separation. This makes life for your shock cord much easier and will increase its useable lifetime many times over.
Each 36" Shock cord protector is made from six ounce 100% Nomex (color may vary). They measure 1.25 inches wide and 36 inches long. Serger lock down stitching is used throughout with #69 Nomex thread. Nomex is very heat resistant, up to 800 degrees Fahrenheit for a brief period of time and sustained temperatures of up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Nomex will not support combustion.
