An ATF permit is not required to purchase, store, possess, mail, manufacture or use Hot Coil Products. Hot Coil products are composed of unregulated materials.
The pre-assembled Hot Coil 10-packs are designed to be used with the PerfectFlite HA45 Altimeter and the PerfectFlite timers. The PerfectFlite products listed above will give you the best performance when used with a fresh Duracell 9 volt alkaline battery. For even better performance use a re-chargeable NIMH battery in the altimeter and a rechargeable NiCad battery in the timers. The HA45’s high current firing circuit is what makes this possible. The Hot Coils are not intended for use with any other avionics. If you decide to use them with anything other than the HA45, please do so with caution.
Most other altimeters will not fire the Hot Coil products including the PerfectFlite MAWD. As always, be sure to bench test the system prior to flight. Your avionics will need to source 5.0 amps minimum in order to fire the Hot Coil products dependably. Each order comes with ten pre-assembled Hot Coils. All you do is load your charge, insert the Hot Coil as you would an E-Match and fly. Each Hot Coil is tested and ready to fly.
