New EZ Small Ejection charge canisters. Each EZ small canister is made from 1/16" thick cardboard with a red covering. The EZ small canister is capable of holding up to 2.5 grams of ejection compound. They will come to you as a kit. You get 20 canisters and 20 bulkheads. The bulkheads are glued into the bottom of the canister using Elmer's carpenters glue (or equal). After the glue has set, 12 hours is recommended, you drill a hole through the bulkhead large enough (3/32" or .0937" or 2.38mm) to accept your home made QuickBurst e-match head or Hot Coil. Specs: 1/2" ID 1 1/2" Long 1/16" Wall Color - Red Max Capacity - 2.5 grams Suggested Hot Coil Mounting: Pass the lead through the open top of the canister. Apply a dab of hot glue around the base of the Hot Coil head and. Pull the head down through the open end of the canister using the lead wire. Make sure the Hot Coil head does not get any hot glue on it. When you look inside the canister you should just be able to see the entire Hot Coil assembly above the bottom of the bulkhead. Suggested Home Made E-Match Mounting: This is done from the bottom of the canister through the outside bottom of the bulkhead. Apply a dab of hot glue around the bottom of the match. Do not get hot glue on the pyrogen coated tip. Push the chips head through the hole in the bulkhead. Push the head gently into the hole. It doesn't take much force to do this. The hot glue will seal the hole and secure the head. Look into the canister and you should see just the coated tip of the match even with the inside bottom of the bulkhead. Nothing to it. Test your match or Hot Coil for continuity. If all is well you are ready to add your charge. Measure your charge out and pour it into the canister. It should cover the Hot Coil or E-match Head completely. Next top the charge off with Dog Barf or some other non flammable wadding. Once the canister is full, pack lightly. Now use masking tape and close the top of the canister shotgun shell style. Meaning place two 1/4" wide wraps around the top OD of the canister leaving most of the tapes width above the rim. Fold over. Done. Go fly a rocket. Hint: Post flight, inspect your canister there is a good chance it can be re-used. I have been able to do this several times. You will find that these canisters provide much better containment than most other methods of securing ejection charges. You will be able to use PyrodexP or Black Powder with equal success. If using Pyrodex P, I recommend using 25% more pyrodex than the black powder calculators call for. Always "Ground Test" your system.
